In honour of Ghana's independence of 1957, this design embraces the colours of the flag (originally designed by Theodosia Okoh).

The colours represent.

Red: represents the blood of those who died in the country's struggle for independence.

Gold: Represents the mineral wealth of the country

Green: Symbolises the country's rich forests and natural wealth

Black: The black star (the star is not included, but the colour represents this meaning) is the symbol of African emancipation

The design also embraces the Ga Samai collection as a representation of lessons in life. Inspiration has been drawn from the Ghanaian cloth Kente, which is a woven textile worn by Royalty (Chiefs and Queen Mother) and special occasions.
