Gaga

Gaga symbolises the historic migration of the Ga people along the West African coastline, journeying from present-day Benin and Nigeria westward to settle in what is now Accra, Ghana.

The original name for the Ga people is “Gaga,” meaning black ants. Fante traders are said to have used this name to describe the Ga as “dangerous black ants” highlighting their strength, unity, and resilience.
